Let’s Talk
Emergent logoThey deliver alongside us

Somebody has to be awake at 3am. It does not have to be you.

Emergent covers IT operations around the clock. We bring them in when something genuinely needs watching outside working hours and standing up a night shift of your own makes no sense.

A capability partner, not a product purchase. One scope and one invoice, with their specialists on the engagement.

What we work with

The products, and who each one suits.

5 listed
01

Service desk cover

First and second line support for your staff, on a rota that does not stop at six o'clock.

Organisations with people working across shifts or time zones.

02

Monitoring and alert response

Someone watching the alerts overnight and working the runbook when one fires.

Teams whose on-call is currently one person and their phone.

03

Infrastructure operations

Patching, backup checks, certificate renewals — the routine work only noticed when it is skipped.

Estates that have grown faster than the team running them.

04

Endpoint and device management

Enrolment, policy, updates, and joiner-mover-leaver handling across the fleet.

Any organisation past the point where IT is somebody's second job.

05

Escalation and hand-off

A documented path from their shift to our engineers when something needs fixing rather than acknowledging.

Anyone who has watched an incident sit in a queue until morning.

What buying through us changes

A partnership is only worth what it changes.

Better than list

Operations cover is priced by scope and hours, not from a price list. We scope it with you first — what actually needs watching — so you are not paying for cover on systems nobody would get out of bed for.

Named contacts

A named operations lead, and a defined route into our engineers behind them. The point of the arrangement is that whoever picks up already knows your estate.

Startup credits

Nothing to apply for here either — this is people and hours. Where the platforms underneath qualify for a vendor's startup programme, we sponsor that application and the vendor decides.

How we help

The work around the product.

  • Write the runbooks first — an operations partner is only ever as good as the instructions handed to them.
  • Define what counts as a real incident and what can wait until morning, before anybody is paged.
  • Set up the monitoring and the thresholds so alerts fire on symptoms that matter, not on every blip.
  • Draw the escalation line clearly: what operations handle, what comes to our engineers, what goes to the vendor.
  • Review the incident record every month and remove recurring causes instead of staffing them indefinitely.
  • Keep the documentation current as the estate changes, because a stale runbook is worse than no runbook.
Where this is not the answer

Round-the-clock cover keeps things running. It does not fix architecture. If a system pages every night, the answer is to repair the cause — not to pay someone to acknowledge the alert — and we would rather do the first job than sell you the second. Cover windows and response times are set in the contract with Emergent; we do not quote them here. Below a certain size this is not worth buying at all: if an overnight outage can wait until morning, let it wait.
